Are you looking for an
affordable web designer based in the
Bristol & Bath area? Western Aspect's web design services provide great
value bespoke custom website solutions, guaranteeing
personal attention and close communication for
your web site design project from a
Bristol-based web designer.
You could have a
professional, effective internet presence, with a unique,
stylish, well-written and search engine optimized web
site from as little as £500.
Why use the Western Aspect web design service? Why indeed? There are literally thousands of graphic and
web design agencies competing for your business – in
fact, I'm amazed that I gained your attention for long
enough to even look at this page!
Some of those
thousands of web design companies are of course
very good at what they do. Unfortunately there
are also plenty that aren’t as good as they'd
wish you to believe, and may deliver a result
that won't be working in harmony with the
objectives of your business.
So how can you tell
whether a web site designer or design agency is right
for you? Before seeking the services of a web designer or a
design agency there are two essential things that you
should consider:
- What do you want your web site to achieve?
- How is the site going to reach its audience?
You must then decide whether that individual or agency is
likely to take the right approach to these questions on
your behalf. You also need to look beyond the eye candy
of the designs in their portfolio and ask whether those
sites are really working in harmony with their clients'
marketing objectives.
What I
won't do... The Western Aspect web
design service is most definitely not about
simply knocking out hasty, ill-considered sites,
in a production-line fashion, that take no
account of the role that the site should play
in your business.
What I do offer is the
full spectrum of skills, knowledge and experience that
must come together for the successful production of your
web site:
- Marketing communication
- Information design
- Copywriting
- Graphic design
- plus many of the projects that feature in the
portfolio included shooting original photography
Add to that the fact that I take great pride and
satisfaction in the work that I do for my clients; and
that means I'm committed to producing the best possible
web site for your needs.I always abide by values of quality
and integrity in my relationships with clients - not
just taking your money and palming you off with a quick
and careless, generic solution.
If you like this site, and the other sites in my
portfolio, then you'll
probably like my approach and design style. Having said
that, I can emulate almost any style that you might have
seen and liked, but I would only advise you to do so if
I felt that it was genuinely appropriate to your needs.
If you'd like to discuss your web design
requirements further then please contact me,
without obligation, for friendly, informal
advice and an estimate.

Web design – my philosophy
I believe that a web site’s principal objective
should be to convey information clearly and
effectively.
As an internet user I know that my primary concern
is to find high quality, relevant content on
a site that loads quickly and is easy to
navigate. I also know that poor spelling and
grammar, and badly written, disjointed copy, can
turn me off a company as effectively as scruffy
presentation or careless service in a shop
might.
So, as a web designer, my first
priority is always to consider the marketing,
information design and copywriting requirements
of a project, i.e. who is the site trying to
reach, and what is the most effective way of
reaching them with the site’s message?
That certainly isn’t to say that a site
shouldn't look good graphically – but the site’s
graphic design must serve the principal
objective of delivering information with
clarity.
It's also vitally important that a
site is consistent with all other facets of a
company's brand - its stationery, brochures,
sales aids, and even premises. I've seen far too
many examples of web design companies that have
overlooked this fundamental requirement,
producing web sites that ignore or contravene
established brand identity.
The
principles which, for me, are integral to every
web design project:
- lightweight &
simple-but-effective design;
- high-quality,
well-written content;
- clear and easy
navigation;
- respecting
brand consistency.
There’s really no substitute for simply building a
decent web site!
